There are few feelings sweeter than setting a goal and reaching it! Friends, I’m feeling it right here in this moment, and I have YOU to thank for it! This past year, I vowed to grow my blog. I’m passionate about my writing and aspire to take it to a professional level. Each view, click, like, comment, share, signup, exc. from you counts, and I’m astonished and humbled by the growth!
Last year around this time I reached out to my first company to partner with, and I just took a peek at the numbers I had sent to them as opposed to the numbers I sent them this year. My average monthly visitors have gone up by over 450 and my average monthly views are up by just shy of 800! WOW! In addition, 21 more people signed up to receive my blog by e-mail and 269 more people started to follow me on Instagram! Maybe one day I’ll grow to look back on these numbers and laugh that I shared them, but today, I feel proud of them! These numbers give me the confidence to continue to pursue my dreams. They prove that my voice does matter and my words are found meaningful enough to read.
I share this information not to brag, but to encourage. As a mom, it’s SO easy to get caught up in your kids, your husband and your chores and to forget about you. Friend, don’t forget about you! Continue to pursue your passions! I know some people think being a blogger is silly, but my blog gives me purpose on those days when I feel like I’m fading. It gives me a sense of worth knowing that a transparent share of tough stuff helped another mother through her struggle…it gives me joy knowing that one of my DIY projects inspired someone else to get creative. Writing is my jam…it may not be yours. Through this post I want to inspire you to find what it is that is your jam! Vow to rock it in the new year! Don’t set yourself up for failure by setting an unrealistic goal – just vow to do it and do it joyfully!
God blesses each of us with gifts. These gifts may not be the things we want to do with our lives, but they are the things that we are naturally good at doing. They are the things that make us happy while doing them because they come easy to us. Tune in to your God given talents and I promise you, you will be so much happier for it!
I never aspired to be a writer. I wanted to be an actress, a television reporter, Miss America…someone glamorous! Truth be told, I pursued each of those dreams (Well, I pursued Miss USA – God didn’t bless me with Miss America talents haha), and each one was a bit unnerving to me. I could do them, because I can do anything I put my mind to, but I couldn’t do them without a sense of fear. I could never shake the butterflies! After years of writing for school, and then for the news after I graduated, I didn’t even realize how big a part of my life writing was! It wasn’t until I wasn’t writing that I realized how much I missed it, and that’s when I started my blog. I never feel nervous hitting publish, and that is such a relief! It’s a joy for me to write and share my thoughts, and it makes me so happy to see that others are taking notice and paying attention to what I have to say! So from the bottom of my heart, thank you 🙂
Be Blessed + Be A Blessing
