Back in 2012, I went to my first hair salon in Nashville and got my least favorite haircut and color ever. After that bad experience, I found my current hair stylist, Renee Bockenstedt, and haven’t looked back since, but I’ve also not gotten a real haircut since either! In the four years I’ve been been with Renee, I’ve never let her cut my hair more than an inch or two, and in that time, I managed to get some serious length!
But the real reason I decided to grow my hair was so that I could donate it. I selfishly held on to my hair for far longer than I had intended, but today, I finally gave in! Y’all, check out my new haircut!
Filled with fear, I let Renee chop off 12 inches of my golden locks! More than enough to donate to Children With Hair Loss! I have ALWAYS wanted to be able to donate my hair, so this is a really big and super cool thing I get to cross off of my bucket list!
I should note that Children With Hair Loss is the only foundation that I could find that accepts color treated and grey hair. I had no idea that other organizations didn’t accept processed hair and was filled with so much sadness that I wouldn’t be able to donate my hair I had been growing for SO long…that is until I found Children With Hair Loss! I am so excited for my hair to bless the life of a little girl!
If you are looking for an awesome hair stylist in Nashville, do check out Renee at Parlour 3! She does amazing natural looking color and gives great trims clearly great cuts 🙂 I have to add that she gives the worlds best head massages while washing too! She’s worth a visit for her head massages alone! Haha! Plus she’s pretty fun to talk to 😉
Thanks for giving me a new style Renee! Although I don’t think it’s ever been this short before, I’m absolutely loving it!
If you are looking to make a big cut to your hair, be sure to consider donating it to make a difference in the life of someone who doesn’t have hair.
Be Blessed + Be A Blessing
And love your new hair!!
Emily has been growing her hair for a while. Her plan is to donate her hair to someone. We will definitely call you when it grows to.a good length. Emily loves the idea of donating to children.
It’s an amazing thing to donate to children! I love to see Emily’s good heart throughout her own struggles and pain
