Happy Easter Friends! What a beautiful holiday Easter is! I love all the signs of new life around us – the perfect reminder of the new life we received through Christ’s death on the cross!
The kiddos are napping – together – can I get an extra Hallelujah for that?! My hubby is busy reading for school, so I thought I’d throw together a quick post recapping our Easter weekend since ours is about wrapped up now 🙂
Friday night we went to see the Easter Bunny – Greta Girl was NOT a fan! I didn’t expect her to be, she didn’t like Santa either. I have to admit, when I was at her level looking up at the bunny I was kinda getting freaked out myself! Either way, a bunny picture is a must. My hubby asked me why it’s a must and I didn’t really have a good answer for him…anybody know why we buy into the bunny pictures? I told him it’s tradition dating back to my childhood – reason enough right?! Here is our 2016 Bunny Picture…
I know a lot of parents get freaked out wondering who the person playing the Easter Bunny is – though I don’t know who this exact Easter Bunny is, I do know that my best friend was the Easter Bunny in high school, so I pretty much always envision that it’s her under the suit 🙂
Saturday morning we headed to our church Egg-stravaganza 🙂 Y’all, if you’re in the Franklin, TN area and happen to be looking for a church, please do yourself a favor and check out Gateway Church! Our church is so child friendly and extremely welcoming – two of the reasons why we decided to plug in there. There are a bunch of fun annual events, but the Egg-stravaganza is one of my favorites! It was there, last year, that I realized that we are raising our babies in an awesome church because Gateway truly and genuinely cares about its littlest members 🙂 I totally brought my camera this year – with no camera card – go me! So I only got a few pictures on my phone.
The kids loved the Egg Hunt! Beau dominated, perks of being the oldest in the age group while Greta was happy to have just one to put in her mouth and another to carry in her hand 🙂
Somehow all the fun of hunting eggs and being in a bounce house all afternoon did NOT tire my son out and he didn’t nap! What The Baby?! Egg domination backfire…total Mom Fail! The kid had so much energy that he proceeded to take all the books off his book shelf and threw all his clothes on the floor while in his room alone. Mama was a bear after that fiasco, but we still dyed eggs…he’s lucky they were already boiled…and he has a good little sister who still deserved to dye eggs!
We went with the 24 Karat Coloring Kit and they turned out pretty amazingly! The kids dyed and Patrick and I painted…it was a good way to get us all involved!
Sunday morning the kiddos woke to a mini hunt in the house – my “Eggs-cuse To Shop” 🙂 No candy for my kiddos this year! The Easter Bunny left all learning games and a couple of outside activities! They seemed happy with this idea 🙂
We got dressed up to get blessed up at church 🙂
How sweet does my Greta Girl look in her pretty spring dress?! I got this smocked steal when she was wee little and the thought of her ever fitting into it seemed unfathomable!
Beau Bud was also super stylish in his little “Beau-Tie” 🙂 When I put on his pastel pink shorts he said “No Mama, these Greta’s pants!” – that one is going down in the book for sure!
We had lunch at our next door neighbors house. Sweet Cindy and Bob saved this Momma’s sanity in figuring out brunch plans with the kiddos! It turned out that our kiddos got to be their therapy as this is one of the first holidays they didn’t have one of their kids home for. Happy to help Cece and Bob!
We wrapped up Mama’s “Eggs-cuse To Shop” – I mean, the kids hunt outside after lunch 🙂 See I had to break it in half because I knew if I gave Beau his “Fire Truck Man” costume before church, he’d have been wearing it to church, covering his sweet Beau-Tie! He is currently sleeping in it 😉 If you plan on seeing my son in the next week or two, expect to see him in this costume, I don’t think we will be getting him out of it any time soon!
Greta Girl loved her new little costume too – or did she just love the flying with Dada? Either way, how cute is she!?
It’s been a really nice Easter holiday! We are going to spend the night playing with all the kiddos new toys with them 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your holiday y’all! Happy Easter!
