Exactly one month ago…Going on 5 months ago, Patrick and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary. We got quite creative with it so I thought I’d share…even if it is really, really late! (I had this written, but needed to add pictures…now I’m having fun re-reading it and making fun of my tardiness!)
We’ve come a long way in four years! In that time, we’ve doubled and became a family of four. Life can be crazy with the kiddos (hence why I’m posting this 5 months after the date 🙂 and because Patrick is home with me right now (no he’s not…he just started school…wow this is old!) he gets that 100%! Deep into the eve of our anniversary, we were still awake and I asked him if he had made my card yet. Sidenote…Patrick made me the most adorable card for our wedding and has been making me cards for our anniversary ever since 🙂 He said no, and I admitted I hadn’t made his yet either (Yes, I now make him his cards too! They are so much more personal!) At midnight we shared a kiss then seperated to make our respective cards. Here’s what we came up with…I think we did good!
Patrick’s card with him, Beau, Greta and Franklin (my 4 family members!) 4 flower petals anddd he added flowers because the theme for year four is fruits and flowers! How creative is that?! We were able to do A LOT with the fruit and flowers theme and we played it up big! We spent the afternoon at Cheekwood Botanical Gardens in Nashville because we could take the babies there. We beat the flowers a bit…there weren’t many to see yet, but we did find a few 🙂
Funny side note…Patrick totally thought the Daffodils were the Tulips they were advertising lol…we actually saw no tulips – though they were supposed to have 100,000 of them by the next week!
We had lunch on the grounds at the Pineapple Room…this name was just lucky lol.
I couldn’t have planned better had I tried! It was delicious too! I have to share the most adorable picture I captured of Beau while munching on his chicken tenders…I could look at this picture all day every day and never lose the smile it puts on my face each time I see it!!! It’s a good reminder of why God calls married couples to be fruitful and multiply! Fruit pun intended 😉
It was a chilly, overcast, gray day, so we headed home early and took a power nap…nothing says lovin’ like some snuggles am I right?! After our snooze, we got ready for dinner at a restaurant I found called Magnolia South. I’m all about tradition, so each year I wear my wedding shoes and carry my wedding clutch, and we always share our signature wedding drink, “The Bailey’s Kiss” (Bailey’s and Amaretto over ice) and take a photo while at our fancy dinner.
Patrick and I decided after year one that instead of buying gifts for each other we’d instead buy one bigger gift to share, something that we wouldn’t normally buy. We both love gardening, so we decided to purchase a bunch of plants and trees to add to what we already have. Now we have apples, peaches, plums and raspberries in memory of this special anniversary! I’d add a photo, but these plants still aren’t old enough to give us fruit yet, so they aren’t too exciting.
Sometimes it’s hard to believe that we’ve already been married for four years! I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun! Here’s to many, many more years with my best friend 🙂
XOXO
That picture of Beau is so cute!!! I can’t believe its been four years (and five months!) already! 🙂
